Resolution 2003-34
Resolution Recognizing the Accomplishments of
DePauw University
WHEREAS, the citizens of the Greencastle community are the recipients of many hours of dedicated service and the
philanthropic activities of the DePauw University student body; and
WHEREAS, as DePauw students Amanda Manning and Tricia Cooksey acted as the University's Co-chairmen of the 2003
Putnam County Relay for Life,they helped assemble 125 teams to raise an amazing$160,000 in support of
the American Cancer Society;and
WHEREAS, DePauw University students help to raise funds for many charitable organizations,help build homes through
Habitat for Humanity and help with many other civic projects; and
WHEREAS, DePauw University faculty,staff and students have continued to provide leadership,energy and inspiration to
Greencastle and the surrounding area, improving the lives of all citizens.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED that the Common Council of the City of Greencastle,Putnam County,Indiana,
declares its gratitude to the students, faculty and staff of DePauw University who have demonstrated that the people of the
Greencastle community are its greatest resource.
