HomeMy Public PortalAbout1976-022RESOLUTION NO. 76'-- , SETTING CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT FOR SEWER AND WATER SUPERINTRNDENT BE IT RESOLVED that the Ledina City Council hereby sets the s ala/9yT for fulltime sewer and water superintendent at $650 per month, plus the normal health insurance, vacation_, holiday, and sick pay benefits accorded other fulltime city employees; in consideration for which the superintendent will provide performance of the normal daily checks, weekly service, periodic maintenance, emergency service, and repairs --except for major or heavy repair work --and will be on call 24 hours a day. The superintendent will provide these services, regardless of hours required, as will be set out in a job description to be adopted by the City Council. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that persons required to replace the superintendent during vacations or illnesses, or tc assist him in major or heavy repair work will be appointed by the City Council sewer and water committee chairman in consultation with the super- intendent. Replacements will work only at the direction of the sewer and water committee chairman (or, in his absence, his deputy) except in extreme emergencies, and will be paid at a rate to be set by the City Council. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the travel expense for the superintendent is set at $50.00per month. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the superintendent shall keep a log for the systems showing hours charged to each and work done. Emergency calls outside of normal working hours will be logged at a minimum of two hours. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council will review the salary of the mperintendent semiannually until a firm base of experience is established, and then will conduct an annual review. This resolution is effective August 1, 1976. Adopted by the Council of the City of Medina this 6th day of July, 1976. Clerk
