COMMON COUNCIL I
CITY OF GREENCASTLE, INDIANA
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING FUNDING OF A
BIG WALNUT SPORTS PARK MASTER PLAN
FROM INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT FUNDS
WHEREAS, the Citizens Advisory Commission for Industrial Development (CACFID)
believes parks are an important tool for retaining and attracting new business and industry to the
community; and
WHEREAS, the Big Walnut Sports Park has become a center for many youth sports and
would be a great loss to the city; and
WHEREAS,the Greencastle Board of Park Commissioners has requested an appropriation
of Eight-Thousand Dollars ($8,000.00) from the Industrial Development Fund to be used for a
master plan for the future of Big Walnut Sports Park to be designed by Gove Assoicates.
WHEREAS, the Citizens Advisory Commission for Industrial Development approves and
recommends to the City of Greencastle Common Council through its Resolution No. 2003-3 an
appropriation of$8,000.00 of industrial development funds for use in the preparation of a master
plan for the Big Walnut Sports Park.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE GREENCASTLE COMMON
COUNCIL approves the appropriation of industrial development fund monies not to exceed
$8,000.00.
