A RESOLUTION OF THE CITYOF LYNWOOD -
DECLARING ITS INTENT TO NEGOTIATE TO
RENEW A LAW ENFORCEMENT AGREEMENT
WITH THE COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES
- . WEREAS, the City/County Law Enforcement Services Agreement
between the County of Los Angeles and, the City of Lynwood expires on June 30, '
1999. the Agreement may be renewed for another five years;, and `.

' WHEREAS, the City Council has' considered and reviewed issues
° related to the provision. of law enforcement services, including presentation by
-the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department for services; and
WHEREAS, City :of Lynwood has reasonalbe concerns over the
necessity' and cost of the level of services provided by the County and-concerns
over the impact on the City of the manner of performance of the services
provided by the County; and
WHEREAS,-the City seeks a commitment from the County of Los'
Angeles and the Sheriff's Department to deploy additional personnel:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE .IT RESOLVED by.the City of Lynwood
that the Gity .Council hereby declares its desire and intention to negotiate and to
enter into law enforcement contract with the County of Los Angeles for the ..
provision of municipal law enforcement services.
. PASSED; APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 6th day of July 1998
