A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LYNWOOD~ ORDERfNG THE. - VACATION AND
ABANDONMENT FOR PUBLIC PURPOSES THAT
PORTION. ~ OF ;APRICOT STREET , SOUTH OF
BEECHWOOD .AVENUE AND BEECHWOOD AVENUE
. BETWEEN APRICOT STREET AND PEACH STREET

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lynwood.did, on the 15th day
of June, 1.999, adopted Resolution No. 99-84, declaring its intention to vacate. those
portions.. of Apricot Street .south of Beechwood Avenue and Beechwood Avenue
between Apricot Street and Peach Street; and
- WHEREAS, Anotices of said vacation have been. posted in the time, form,
and manner required by law; and .
1NHEREAS, a public hearing on the matter was held on the 20th day of
July,'1999, as,prescribed kiy law,
NOW, THEREFORE; BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Lynwood as follows: ~ ,
Section 1. That the following described portions ~ of streets , .are
unnecessary for present or prospective public use,.. and that the .public interest,
necessity and convenience require that the City Council of said City hereby order the
vacation and abandonment. of portions ofsaid streets.
~ Those portions of Apricot Street south of .Beechwood Avenue and
t Beechwood Avenue between Apricot Street and Peach Street of
Modjeska Park Tract in the City of Lynwood, County of Los Angeles, State
of California, Map Book 9, Pages 142-143 of maps in the office of the Los
-Angeles County Recorder, more closely described as follows:
. Beginning at the.most northeasterly corner of Lot 1, Block 17 of said ~ t t
' - Tract; thence. N84°13'W 266 feet along the northerly line of said 'Lot 1 and
Lot 48, being the southerly right-of--way line of Beechwood Avenue, to the
northwesterly corner of Lot 48; thence S17°59'W 205 feet along the
easterly right-of-way .line of Apricot Street to the southwesterly corner of
- Lot 41; thence N72°01 W 40 feet to a point on the westerly right-of-way
line of Apricot Street; thence along said line N17°59'E#o a point located
on the southerly .line of Lot 28, Block 18 of said Tract,. said point .being
5.64 feet west of the southeasterly corner of Lot 28; thence along the
northerly line of Beechwood Avenue S84°13'E 316.02 feef to ~a .point on
the southerly line of Lot 41 of said Tract, said point being 10.38 feet from
the southwesterly corner of said Lot; (hence southwesterly. in a direct line
to the most northeasterly corner of Lot 1 of said Tract being the point of
beginning,

. Section 2. That the City Council of the .City of Lynwood does hereby
determine that the public convenience and. necessity .require that an easement be
retained for construction and maintenance of utilities .within the limits of said portions of
streets as de"scribed in Section 1, or the effected property owner(s) shah be required to
relocate said utilities.
.. Section 3. That the .City Clerk of `the City of Lynwood shall cause a
certified copy of said order to be recorded in the office of the Recorder of Los Angeles
County'.

Section 4. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
