A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCfL OF THE CITY OF -
.. ~ LYNWOOD REJECTING THE SOLE 61D SUBMITTED BY .
". h TRIMMING LAND COMPANY, INC. AND AUTHORIZING THE
INFORMAL BIDDING PROCESS FOR THE PURCHASE OF
TREES FOR THE TREE PLANTING PROJECT, PROJECT
5-5217.

- WHEREAS, the Tree Panting Project, Project Number 5-5217 is
e ~ ,. ~ scheduled for completion during FY 1999-2000; and

WHEREAS, the purchase of trees for said project was advertised for-
competitive bidding.; and
.~ WHEREAS, 'the bid opening was held on July 13, 1999, and only one bid
was submitted by Trimming Land Company,.lnc..for $44,992.50; and
. ~ WHEREAS, staff recommends that this bid be rejected for. it being non-
competitive;~and
WHEREAS, said purchase can tie mare economically and expeditiously
done through an informal bidding; and
WHEREAS, the Lynwood Municipal Code, Section 6-3.•13 allows the
' informal bidding process with a 4/5 vote.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City. Council of the City of Lynwood does hereby
find. proclaim. order and resolve as follows:
. Section 1. That the -bid submitted by Trimming Land Company, Lnc. for the
purchase of trees for the Tree Planting Project be rejected.
Section 2. That staff is authorized to procure said purchase through ari
informal bidding process. '
Section 3. This resolution shall. take .effect immediately upon its adoption.
