A RESOLUTION RENAMING THE PROPERTY KNOWN AS THE OLD INDUSTRIAL PARK TO
ROKICKI COMMUNITY PARK
WHEREAS, Michael W. Rokicki, affectionately known as Mr. Greencastle, passed away on August 21, 2003,
creating a large vacancy within our community as a true public servant;and
WHEREAS,Michael Rokicki sponsored every youth sport activity for more years than most parents can remember,
as well as refereeing basketball and baseball games; and — h"
WHEREAS, Michael spent countless hours with members of the Parks and Recreation Department brainstorming
and sharing his thoughts in order to improve the quality of life in our community;and
WHEREAS,Michael Rokicki saw the bright side of every situation and loved his fellow citizens,spending his entire
life building the life for others. The motto"Service above Sell';is ague description of his life;and 4.4
WHEREAS, Michael's contributions to the Greencastle'`Parks and Recreation Department are too numerous to
mention,just as the number of pens and pencils he left scattered throughout the community;and
WHERS,Michael brought pride to his fellow citizens by receiving the Sagamore of the Wabash in 2002 and by
being named the 2003 Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year; and

WHEREAS,with Michael's passing,the numerous Mike Rokicki State Farm Insurance signs will be removed and
naming a park for him will help fill the void.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE GREENCASTLE COMMON COUNCIL salutes son,
husband,father,friend,philanthropist and City Councilor Michael W.Rokicki by naming the property at the southeast corner
of Veterans Memorial Highway and Zinc Mill Road(a/k/a Old Industrial Park) Rokicki Community Park.
Now,therefore, let the signatures below be applied with a Mike Rokicki pen.

Description
A tract of land located in part of the Northeast Quarter (NE{) and
part of the Southeast Quarter (SE4) of Section 22, Township 14 North,
Range 4 West, more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at the Northwest corner of the Southeast Quarter (SE-4-)
of Section 22, Township 14 North, Range 4 West; thence South along
the West line of said quarter section to the Southwest corner of 30 acres
off the North end of the West Half (WI) of the Southeast Quarter (SEI) of
said Section 22; thence East along the South line of said 30 acre tract to
the Southeast corner thereof; thence North along the East line of said half.

a point; thence South 70° East one hundred thirty (130) feet to a goint;
thence North 30° East sixty (60) feet to a point; thence South 60 East
for a distance of four hundred seventy (470) feet to the point of curve of
a curve to the left having a radius of three hundred seventy-five (375)
feet; said point being eight hundred (800) feet West of the East line of the
Southeast Quarter (SE4) of said Section 22; thence continuing along said
�-. curve to a point six hundred (600) feet West and four hundred one. and
ninety-eight hundredths (40198) feet South of the Northeast corner of the
Southeast Quarter (SE4) of said Section 22; thence North 00° 04' West,
six hundred (600) feet West of and parallel to the East line of said Section
22, for a distance of one thousand five hundred sixty-three and five hundredths
(1, 563. 05) feet to a point on the South right-of-way line of the Pittsburg,
Cincinnatti, Chicago & St. Louis Railroad Company; thence South 62° 50'
West along said South right-of-way line to the West line of the Northeast
Quarter (NE4) of said Section; thence South along said West line to the
place of beginning, and containing in said tract of land 62. 6 acres,
more or less. .
