No. 07-64 Date of Adoption Februar IS, 2007 AUTHORIZING A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES CONTRACT FOR ENGINEERING SERVICES WITH T & M ASSOCIATES - WATERFRONT ACQUISITION PARCEL MAP AND PROPERTY DESCRIPTIONS WHEREAS, the Borough of Carteret is in need of professional engineering services for preliminary engineering and surveying services related to the preparation of parcel maps and metes and bounds property descriptions; and WHEREAS, T & M Associates, 11 Tindall Road, Middletown, NJ 07748, possesses the requisite experience and expertise to provide said services; and WHEREAS, T & M Associates has submitted a proposal to provide said services at a total cost not to exceed $2,300.00; and WHEREAS, the Mayor and the Council have reviewed said proposal; and WHEREAS, the Chief Financial Officer has certified that funds are or will be available for said purpose. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and the Council of the Borough ofCarteret, County of Middlesex, State of New Jersey, as follows: 1. The proposal from T & M Associates for the above described engineering services, as outlined in T & M's proposal dated February 8, 2007, at a total cost not to exceed $2,300.00 is hereby approved; 2. This action is approved as an award of a professional services contract pursuant to the Borough's Fair and Open Process as provided for and in accordance with applicable law. 3. A copy of this Resolution be forwarded to the Borough's Purchasing Department and T & M Associates. This project includes mapping services related to the project as described in the following Scope of Services. Scope of Services 1. Waterfront Acquisition Parcel Exhibit Preparation 1.1. We understand that the Borough desires to acquire an approximately 5.0 acre parcel from the land ofE.I. Du Pont De Nemours & Co. property (Lot 1.01 in Block 502). The specific parcel is located at the Southeast corner of Lot 1.01. Once acquired, the parcel will be used for the development by the Borough as the proposed Carteret Ferry Terminal Site. Utilizing boundary line information of the overall tract derived from the Boundary, Topographic and Wetland Survey of the property prepared by Paulus Sokolowski and Sartor dated 9-26-06 for the referenced site, we will prepare an exhibit map and metes and bounds parcel description suitable for use by the Borough to acquire, the approximately 5.0 acre portion of said Lot. The exhibit map and description will be suitable for use by the Borough to define and describe the intended acquisition parcel. Deliverables: Twelve (8) print copies of the exhibit map. Twelve (8) copies of the metes and bounds parcel description. 2. Information to be Provided bv Client 2.1. The Client has provided a copy of the 2006 Boundary, Topographic, and Wetland survey ofthe reference property. 2.2. Relevant record documents in the Client's possession. Excemions · Preparation of a boundary surveyor subdivision including field survey, boundary resolution and setting of property corners is not part of the Scope of Work.
