A RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING THE OUTSTANDING SERVICE OF
JEFF McCALL ON THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE
GREENCASTLE COMMUNITY SCHOOL CORPORATION
WHEREAS, Jeff McCall was appointed to the Greencastle Community School Corporation
Board of Directors for four consecutive terms, serving with distinction from 1988 through 2004;
WHEREAS, Jeff McCall has attended every regular meeting of the Greencastle
Community School Corporation Board during the past sixteen years and has missed only two
special meetings;
WHEREAS, Jeff McCall has worked with six school superintendents: Gary Druckemiller;
Bob Yost; Jim Renz; Mike Turner; Bob Harbison; and Bob Green, during this period of time;
WHEREAS, Jeff McCall has helped guide the Greencastle Community School Corporation
through often difficult financial times;
WHEREAS, Jeff McCall has shown great respect for the teachers in the Greencastle
Community School System and has worked effectively with the Greencastle Classroom Teachers
Association;
WHEREAS, Jeff McCall has contributed to the planning for major renovations to both
Ridpath and Tzouanakis Schools, the construction of Deer Meadow School, and renovations to
both the Middle School and the High School; and
WHEREAS, Jeff McCall has encouraged the "vertical articulation" of the various schools
in the Greencastle Community School Corporation, the abolition of corporal punishment, the
implementation of an effective drug testing policy, the development of more Advanced Placement
classes, and has shown a continuing concern for both the disadvantaged and the gifted and
talented;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY OF GREENCASTLE
COMMON COUNCIL express its highest praise and deepest gratitude to Jeff McCall on this
occasion for his contributions and service to our children, our teachers and our community.
