RESOLUTION NU. 76 — , riBaARD1NG THE ORONO-LONG LAKE
SEWER INTERCEPTOR
WHEREAS the Physical Development Committee of the Metropiitan
Council is to review the proposed Orono -Long Lake sewer inter-
ceptor at its meeting on August 5; and
WHEREAS construction of the Orono -Long Lake interceptor is
necessary as a prerequisite for a Medina interceptor to serve
the Medina-Morningside area; and
WHEREAS a pollution problem of critical concern now exists in
the Medina-Morningside area; and
WHEREAS the Medina City Council long has advocated severing
this area and has included it in the City's comprehensive
sewer plan; and.
WHEREAS municipal sewers represent the only solution to the
existing; problems;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Medina City Council
requests that the Metropolitan Council and its Physical Devel-
opment Committee take all steps necessary toward construction
of an Orono -Long Lake interceptor and a Medina interceptor as
quickly as possible; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this resolution be sant
to the Metropolitan Council and its Physical Development Com-
mittee and to Council members Charles Weaver and Kingsley Murphy.
