Town Board Briefing
May 3, 2017
Please note that members of the Town Board will have dinner together starting at
5:30pm.
During the workshop session, the Town Board will hear an overview of the Fraser Valley
Recreation District Master Plan along with their plans to pursue a refrigeration system for
the ice rink. The District is hoping the Town will partner with other entities in this effort.
The consent agenda includes two significant expenditures, a replacement loader and
February transit expenses. Background materials are included in the packet.
Cheryl Key has asked for some time to discuss speeding on Wapiti Drive. See enclosed
letter.
Per the discussion last meeting, enclosed in the packet is a proposed Grant Agreement
for the Crooked Creek. Note that I have left the amount blank pending Board direction. I
have discussed the loan concept with finance and the Town Attorney. Unfortunately,
I’ve learned that the Colorado Constitution has prohibits the Town from providing loans
to private entities. If the Creek is unable to obtain private financing, and/or the Town
Board found a public purpose associated with such loan, perhaps it could be considered.
However, we would have concerns about our ability to secure repayment.
Enclosed in the packet is a briefing regarding proposed out of town water and sewer
service for Byers Peak Ranch for discussion and consideration.
Given that we now have a vote with the Northwest Transportation Planning Region, and
we have at least two Trustees interested in serving this role, I’d like to discuss formal
appointment with the Board.
We also have four candidates interested in filling the Economic Development Advisory
Board vacancy. This is a Board appointment.
As always, feel free to contact me if you have any questions or need any additional
information.
