AWARDING A CONTRACT TO-EXCEL PAVING, CO.; IN THE AMOUNT OF
$235,710:00 FOR THE HARRIS AVENUE (McMILLAN TO CARLIN AND ,. : '
•. ;--I • AGNES TO FERNWOOD), BARLOW AVENUE (NORTON TO MLK); .AND
. POPE AVENUE (BEECHWOOD TO LOS FLORES); STREET IMPROVEMENT , .
'', ~ . • ~ ~ PROJECT, PROJECT NUMBER 5-5199, FISCAL YEAR 1999/2000, AND
- AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE THE AGREEMENT

WHEREAS,, the Harris Avenue, Barlow Avenue and Pope Avenue, Street
Improvement Project; Project No. 5-5199 is scheduled for ,completion during the .FY '
1999-2000; and ,
' WHEREAS, the Harris Avenue,• Barlow Avenue and Pope Avenue; Street.
Improvement Project is funded by Community Development Block Grant funds; and
y WHEREAS,. the bid opening was held`on. August 31~; 1999; and Excel Paving .
Co.; was~the lowest responsible bidder at $235,710.OO;~and
' ~ .. WHEREAS, a reference check has revealed that~this contractor has the. necessary
experience for this type of project. ~ . ; ~ •

r NOW .THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Lynwood_does hereby find,
. proclaim, order and resolve as follows:

~~ ~ Section 1. That the contract for the Harris Avenue; Barlow Avenue and Pope - ~ '
"Avenue, Street Improvement Project, Project Number 5-5199 be awarded to Excel Paving
Co., for its low, bid of $235.,710.00
. ~~ ~ Section.2. .That the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute the agreement
between"the City of Lynwood and Excel Paving Co.
- Sectiori 3.. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption. .
