A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD AUTHORIZING THE
APPROPRIATION OF FIFTEEN THOUSAND DOLLARS FROM THE UNAPPROPRIATED
GENERAL FUND BALANCE FOR THE 1999 YOUTH FLAG FOOTBALL AND BASKETBALL
CLINICS
WHEREAS, The City of Lynwood has one of the most outstanding youth sports programs in all
of southeastern,Los Angeles; and
WHEREAS, The Youth Basketball. and Flag Football Clinics are an ideal method to kick-off the
winter sports season which is conducted in conjunction with the Lynwood Sports Association; and
WHEREAS, The clinic will have college, professional and other Clinicians, including Pamela
McGee and Sandra Van Embricgs, both of whom have played professionally with such teams as the
WNBA's Los Angeles Sparks; and
WHEREAS, The Youth Sports Program serves hundreds of Lynwood youth between the ages of
five (5) and fourteen (14) years of age.
WHEREAS, This is a program which was not identified in the budget document as part of the
1999/2000 fiscal budget; and
WHEREAS, The projected operating budget for this program is fifteen thousand dollars
($15,000..00). ,
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Lynwood does hereby find, proclaim, order
and resolve as follows:
Section I. The City Manager or his designee is authorized to carryout any necessary transactions
as so ordered by this resolution.
Section 2. That a fund appropriation in the amount of fifteen thousand dollars ($15,000.00) be
executed as follows:

Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
