Is the proposed change substantially more detrimental than the existing non -conforming use, structure, or building to the neighborhood? YES/NO, Explain why. The project would change the porch stairs/entrance from a side entrance staircase and return it to a center entrance, increasing the size of uncovered porch as well as adding a small porch roof over the stairs. The proposed front porch addition will be a single story and will be constructed to extend the existing porch. The roof -line will remain unchanged, excepting a 5.5'x 8.10' flat portion that will extend over the stairs. This request is rising out the discovery of vintage photographs of 25 Langdon, showing the original front porch structure. (westerly photos produced by neighbor at 31 Langdon, and easterly photo produced by neighbor at 21 Langdon) It is the desire of the homeowner to honor the the spirit of the original construction and return the porch to its original structure. Only historical side views of the house exists, no frontal views, and thus estimations are being made from other porches in the neighborhood as to the true historical look of the front of the house. This addition will serve to both create visual balance to the exterior of the house. This addition will not impact the existing concrete walkway that surrounds the northeasterly side of the house and back, sustaining circular access around the house. *Please see included historic photos and neighborhood roof comparisons THIS APPLICATION MUST BE SUBMITTED IN PERSON TO THE ZONING OFFICE ON THE 2ND FLOOR OF THE TOWN ADMINISTRATION BUILDING.
