HomeMy Public PortalAbout1977-004Member Nancy Laurent introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: CITY OF MEDINA RESOLUTION NO. 77_4 RESOLUTION VACATING A PORTION OF MAIN STREET, PLAT OF INDEPENDENCE BEACH, HENNEPIN COUNTY WHEREAS, the City Council has received a Petition signed by at least a majority of the owners of property abutting the street which is described on Exhibit A and attached hereto, and by the owners of at least 50% of the abutting land area; and WHEREAS, the said Petition requests that the street described on Exhibit A be vacated; and WHEREAS, on February 15, 1977 the Council conducted a public hearing on the question of the said street vacation, following two weeks published and posted notice; and WHEREAS, the Council finds that the street described on Exhibit A is no longer needed for public purposes and that the vacation of said street would be beneficial to the public interest; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Medina that the land described on Exhibit A be and the same is hereby vacated as a public street and that all public rights in said land heretofore vested, including but not limited to boulevards, utility easements, and other public uses, are hereby vacated. Date February 15, 1977 ATTEST: ! . r /71?1d-/ City Clerk ✓��/ Mayor The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Arthur Theis and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor of: Theis, Laurent, Neddermeyer, Crosby, Reiser and the following voted against the same: None whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. That part of Main Strut that lies between Blocks 25 and. 28 in Independence Beach, Hennepin County, Minnesota, according to the recorded plat thereof and which lies westerly of the southerly extension of the east line of said Block 25 and which lies easterly of a line distant 20.0 feet northwesterly of and parallel with the southeasterly line of Lot 7 of said Block 28.
