A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
TEMPLE CITY APPROVING THE MODIFICATION OF
PARKING CONTROL SIGNAGE AND CURB MARKINGS IN
THE AREAS OF THE 9600 -9700 BLOCK OF LEMON AVENUE,
THE INTERSECTION OF OAK AVENUE AT CAMINO REAL,
AND THE INTERSECTION OF OAK AVENUE AT EMPEROR
AVENUE
WHEREAS, the City Council recognizes that persons who reside in specific residential
areas may be impacted by excess motor vehicle traffic and parking congestion; and,
WHEREAS, On August 3, 2004, the City Council adopted Resolutions 04 -4282 and 04-
4283, which implemented a variety of parking regulation and traffic circulation improvements in
the area of various Temple City Schools.
WHEREAS, Staff has reviewed the conditions in the areas of the 9600 -9700 block of
Lemon Avenue, the intersection of Oak Avenue at Camino Real, and the intersection of Oak
Avenue at Emperor Avenue in the corporate limits of the City and, after obtaining input from
residents, school representatives, the Las Angeles County Sheriffs Department, and the City's
Traffic Engineer has proposed various changes in traffic control devices to improve traffic
circulation and provide adequate parking opportunities for residents and visitors; and,
WHEREAS, Division 11, Chapter 9, Section 22507, subsection "A" of the California
Vehicle Code authorizes local authorities to prohibit or restrict the stopping, parking, or standing
of vehicles on certain streets or portions thereof, during all or certain hours of the day; and,
WHEREAS, the proposed traffic control signs and markings in the areas of the 9600-
9700 block of Lemon Avenue, the intersection of Oak Avenue at Camino Real, and the
intersection of Oak Avenue at Emperor are consistent with all local, state and federal regulations.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Temple City hereby resolves as follows:
SECTION 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to erect or install the following
signage or other appropriate markings at the intersection of Oak Avenue at Camino Real:
A. Install fifty (50) feet of red curb marking at the northeast corner of Oak
Avenue at Camino Real.
B. Install fifty -eight (58) feet of red curb marking at the northwest corner of Oak
Avenue at Camino Real.
C. Install fifty -five (55) feet of red curb marking at the southwest corner of Oak
Avenue at Camino Real.
D. Install fifteen (15) feet of red curb marking on the east side of Oak Avenue at
the Camino Real crosswalk.
E. Install two "No U- turn" signs for northbound traffic on Oak Avenue at Camino
Real.
F. Install "No Stopping 7:30 a.m. -3:30 p.m. Schooldays" signage on the east
side of Oak Avenue at the Camino Real crosswalk.
SECTION 2. The City Manager is further authorized to erect or install the following
signage or other appropriate markings at the intersection of Oak Avenue at Emperor:
A. Install sixty (60) feet of red curb marking on the northwest corner of Oak Avenue at
Emperor Avenue.
B. Install forty -six (46) feet of red curb marking on the southwest corner of Oak Avenue
at Emperor Avenue.

SECTION 3. The City Manager is further authorized to erect or install the following
signage or other appropriate markings at the 9600 -9700 block of Lemon Avenue:
A. Install "One Hour Parking 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Schooldays" signage on the north
and south side of Lemon Avenue extending from eighty -three feet east of Temple
City Boulevard, eastward to Golden West Avenue.
SECTION 4. Violations of the parking restrictions imposed by this Resolution
shall subject violators to the sanctions provided in applicable Federal, State, and Local
law, and the City Manager (and his designates), the Los Angeles County Sheriffs
Department, or any other authorized law enforcement personnel, are hereby authorized
to issue citations or take other action to enforce this Resolution.
SECTION 5. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this
resolution.

of Temple City at a regular meeting held on the 5th day of October, 2004 by the following vote:
