A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD APPROVING
THE NECESSARY FUNDS TO PROVIDE A
SITE AND SUPPLIES TO CREATE AN
EMERGENCY OPERATIONS.CENTER

WHEREAS, The City of Lynwood ~is currently without an
Emergency Operations Center or a site dedicated for its purpose, and
WHEREAS, The safety and service to residents will be enhanced
by the existence of an Emergency Operations Center, and
WHEREAS, The City of Lynwood will benefit from-the even flow of
government and the organized command, (BEMs) Standardized Emergency
Management System, of the emergency incident at hand, and
'WHEREAS, ,The. Emergency Operation Center is the apex of
emergency preparedness, linking the City of Lynwood to surrounding Cities and to the
County Emergency Operation Center, and
NOW. THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY FOND, PROCLAIM, ORDER AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That staff is authorized to locate a site that will best.
accommodate ashort-term and fixed Emergency Operation Center.
.Section 2. That staff is authorized to obtain the appropriate
supplies and equipment that will accommodate an Emergency Operation Center.
• Sg i n .That the City Manager or his designee is authorized to
appropriate funding in the amount not to exceed $100,000.00 as follows:

ti n 4. That this resolution shall take effect imrrmediately upon
its adoption.
