A RESOLUTION OF THE. CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD, •
CALIFORNIA AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO :EXECUTE THE CONSULTING
SERVICES AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY ,OF LYNWOOD AND: WEB `
` ~ ENTERPRISES AND THE MONTH-TO-MONTH MAINTENANCE AGREEMENT.

' AUTHORIZING THE APPROPRIATION OF $35,000 FROM THE

' • ~ ~ WHEREAS, the World Wide Web (WWW) has more than 1.6 million sites and is' adding
.' ,nearly 400 new sites each hour.. Today, the.lnternet connects approximately 50 million around the .
glove and is growing by as much as 10% per month; and
,WHEREAS, locaf'jurisdictions are finding that the InferneUWWW provides significant
opportunities'to.provide constituents and other interests with"an additional means of obtaining
information regarding the city and to promote the municipality for purposes of :business retention,. "
expansion and redevelopment; and -
. ,
• WHEREAS,"the City does not have'the personnel available with expertise to design and
maintain a web site;. and
' WHEREAS,.. pursuant to Section. 6-3.13 of the Lynwood Municipal Code exempts these '
type of services from the City's"formal•bid procedure; and
WHEREAS, the City Council on September 21, 1999, authorized staff ~to negotiate with.
WEB Enterprises fog the acquisition of Web Site Design and hosting services;,
WHEREAS, it would be more expeditious. for the City to contract the web site design,
-establishment, and maintenance; and '

WHEREAS,.WEB Enterprises has the expertise to design "and maintain a web site for the.
City of Lynwood;
~'~ NOW, THEREFORE, .THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE CITY OF LYNWOOD HEREBY
j RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 4. That the Mayor .is authorized to execute the Agreement entitled
"Gonsulting•Services Agreement Between the City of Lynwood, `California and WEB Enterprises.
SECTION2, That the Mayor is authorized to execute the Agreement entitled" Month - '
. - to-Month Maintenance ' Agreement Between.. the City of Lynwood, California and WEB
Enterprises.".
SECTION 3 ~ That the Director of Finance. and Admihi5tration Services is authorized to
make the following transfer from the unappropriated general funds to cover this expense:
