HomeMy Public PortalAbout1977-018CITY OF MEDINA RESOLUTION NO. 77-18 RESOLUTION REGARDING REZONING REqUEST BE IT RESOLVED that the request of Don Mayer to rezone property in the N. E. quadrant of the intersection of Nennepin Co. 116 and State Highway #55 from C-2 to M-1 is not approved for the following reasons: 1. The proposal is not consistent with the City's Comprehensive Plan, in particular the policy relating to Strip Zoning, Minimum acreage for rezoning, landscaping, screening and buffering. 2. There is ample Industrial Land already zoned M-1 in the Hamel area. 3. The application constitutes snot zoning in that it is an isolated parcel, one acre in size; the request is for a specific use; it does not constitute .fte expansion of an existing zone; and adjacent properties were developed in reliance on the existing zoning. 4. There is insufficient set -back from non -industrial uses to do proper landscaping, buffering and screening from adjacent uses. 5. Public opinion is divided on whether or not do so rezone.
