RESOLUTION 77-37
REGARDING ASSESSMENT OF CERTAIN LOTS
WHEREAS from time to time the city has been requested to cancel assessments
on lots in Independence Beach because of alledged inequities in the application
of the assessment policy adopted by the city, and
WHEREAS any such cancellation or adjustment may require substantial recalculation
which, based on information ay- ilable at this time, could not be made with much
more clarity than in 1975, and
WHEREAS Council would like to avoid, if al all possible, the reassessment of the
entire district, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED that the applications of Mr. Bailey, Mr. Hoff and others similarily
situated be tabled pending a plan by the City Attorney whereby adjustments or
cancellations in assessments may be made without reassessing the entire district.
The City realizes that there are land planning aspects of readjustment of assess-
ments which are desireable but must comply with laws regulating such adjustments.
