There was some discussion about putting extra cost on the liquor and,
beer places so, as to help police the town.

Regular meeting February 7 1950
Mayor Sivers called the meeting to order at 8:15 P. .
Burman,Burroughs,Kurtz,MacKenzie,Pattereon & Widmaier present.
The Auditor Mr.Anderson who audited the clerks books for four years,
gave his report and spoke to the board about some changes he wanted
go make in entering the receipts.He stated the books. were 0.K.as was
the cash.
The Marshal Mr.Ware talked to the board about having an ordinance
made prohibiting U turns on main street in the business district.
Ordinance 96 stated that all turning should be done on tae intersections.
He also spoke about the Club rooms having locks on the club rooms to
keep young people entering the romms.Also he spoke about truck parking
on main street.
It was decided to have a new lock on the town hall and the clerk was
to give out keys to the fire .Department members and the other ones
working for the town and he wbs to keep a list of the names of theones
having keys.This was done because tliere had been so ::::any keys out and
some had not been turned in.
The clerk read the minutes of the regular .meeting of January 3 which
werea,proved as read.A test of water was found safe for use by the
Health Departr:ent.
A summons Ifi the county court to the town board members was read
and as this had been answered by the Town Atty.before Feb.8.This was
brought by Clifford White to show why the town board had not allowed his
liquor Wense to sell by the drink.
An application of Dick Curtis for a liquor license to sell liquor by
the drink was read. Burman moved,Kurtz seconded: That the application
of Dick Curtis for a retail liquor license to sell liquor by the drink
be refused.All six members voted yes.The liOise,iiela was denied.
Burman moved,V idmaier seconded:To grant Sarah. Andrews a 3.2% beer licens
for one year.Motion carried upon roll call.
Burroughs moved,Pat t'eonseconded:Ta grant the V.F.W.Post a 3.2% beer
license for one year.Motion carried.
Burroughs moved,MacKenzie seconded:To call a town election April 4 to
elect one mairor and six trustees for a term of two years.Motion carried
upon roll call.
Kurtz moved,Burroughs seconded:To appoint Mrs. Laur a Cof fmanArs. Jettye
Fulmerand Mrs.Blake Armstrong as judges for the election.Motion carried
upon roll call. Mrs.R.W.Riedel were suggested as substitute.
