Burman,Burroughs,Kurtz,MacKenzie,Patterson & Wid-aier were present. The clerk read the minutes of the regular meeting of March 7 which was approved as read. C.A.Brayton Notary Public swore in the new board of Harry Kurtz as Mayor, R.L.Burman, Tohn Burroughs ,Howard Robinson,Herbert Schulz, M. 0. Widmai er and Gleesner Wood as Trustees. Widmaier spoke to the bera about Paul Lear as a Utility man on the park and to learn the clerks job.Paul Lear then said that he thought the board should pay 200.00 per month.This was discussed after Paul had left. The board members thought that if Paul could not handle the job along that thaey would hire what extra help he needed. Trey thought that he might take care of the two parks and the cemetery in this way. Widmaier moved,Burmencl seconded:To hire Paul Lear as Utility man at 4. 200.00 per month.Motion carried. Burroughs moved ,Burman sec }nd ed : To hire Mr. Smi th and Sherman Woods at their old jobs at the same wages.Motion carried. Burman moved,Bur ughs seconded:To hire Mrs.Sriith as Librarian at the same wages.Motion carriedyto serve All employees are hired 1.t the will and pleaseure of the board. Mayor Kurtz appointed giarnaier and Robinson to investigate the drainage of the street water which runs south. They were to meet with farmers whose irrigation water drained into the same hole on the farm one half mile south of town.The man who owned this farm said that he wanted all p persons whose water drained unto his farm to help him pump the waste; j water into his ditches for irri gat ion, and thus keep the hole drained. The next meeting was to be held when this meeting kad been held, and the matter looked into.
