A RESOLUTION CONFIRMING THAT SERVICES RENDERED BY
VIRTUE OF AN IDEM GRANT APPLICATION FOR EQUIPMENT WILL
NOT DISPLACE PRIVATE SECTOR SERVICES
WHEREAS, the City of Greencastle provides governmental services of a nature requiring
specified equipment;
WHEREAS, specifically, the City is in need of a leaf vacuum for continued and improved
service;
WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of Greencastle finds that a leaf vacuum
would reduce air pollution and reduce the accumulation of debris in its storm sewers; and
WHEREAS, it is a finding of fact of the Common Council for the City of Greencastle that
this service will promote the public health, welfare, and safety of the residents of the City of
Greencastle, and the Common Council further determines through careful review and evaluation of
all comments that the pursuit of the grant will not significantly displace any private sector service
of comparable scope and size, and, most importantly, will assist the state of Indiana in achieving
its waste reduction goals.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF GREENCASTLE Common
Council that:
1. The Common Council authorize the preparation and submittal of an application
for an IDEM Source Reduction and Recycling Grant for the purchase of two
