HomeMy Public PortalAbout12-2006-12 RESOLUTION NO. 2006— 1c9-- SCANNED A RESOLUTION CONFIRMING THAT SERVICES RENDERED BY VIRTUE OF AN IDEM GRANT APPLICATION FOR EQUIPMENT WILL NOT DISPLACE PRIVATE SECTOR SERVICES WHEREAS, the City of Greencastle provides governmental services of a nature requiring specified equipment; WHEREAS, specifically, the City is in need of a leaf vacuum for continued and improved service; WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of Greencastle finds that a leaf vacuum would reduce air pollution and reduce the accumulation of debris in its storm sewers; and WHEREAS, it is a finding of fact of the Common Council for the City of Greencastle that this service will promote the public health, welfare, and safety of the residents of the City of Greencastle, and the Common Council further determines through careful review and evaluation of all comments that the pursuit of the grant will not significantly displace any private sector service of comparable scope and size, and, most importantly, will assist the state of Indiana in achieving its waste reduction goals. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF GREENCASTLE Common Council that: 1. The Common Council authorize the preparation and submittal of an application for an IDEM Source Reduction and Recycling Grant for the purchase of two leaf vacuums for the Greencastle Street Department; 2. The Greencastle Street Department commits the required resources as matching funds toward the purchase of the leaf vacuums in an amount up to $22,873.00. Commitment of these funds is contingent upon receipt of the IDEM grant funding. PASSED AND RESOLV. by the Common Council of the City of Greencastle at its regular meeting this fi day o ,� , 2006.
