RESOLUTION NO. 2007- a �1 F
RESOLUTION APPROVING THE TRANSFER OF APPROXIMATELY 27.43 ACRES
OF LAND IN GREENCASTLE TO IVY TECH COMMUNITY COLLEGES OF
INDIANA
WHEREAS, the Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana (Ivy Tech) 2007-09 Capital
Budget Request contains a new construction project for Region 7— Wabash Valley to construct a
building on land to be given to the College by the City of Greencastle;
WHEREAS, the 2007 Indiana General Assembly authorized the College to acquire land
and construct a building in Greencastle through a bond issue of$8,000,000;
WHEREAS, the City of Greencastle owns approximately 27.43 acres of land at the
southeast corner of Veterans Memorial Highway(US 240) and Zinc Mill Road which it would
like to transfer to Ivy Tech (see attached legal description and map);
WHEREAS, said property has been evaluated and found to be acceptable for the
Greencastle project, and
WHEREAS, the Region 7 — Ivy Tech Wabash Valley Board of Trustees has requested
that the Ivy Tech State Trustees receive said transfer of said property.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Common Council of the City of
Greencastle, does hereby approve transfer of the land described in Attachment A, which is
incorporated herein; and
FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED, that the Common Council of the City of Greencastle
does hereby authorize and direct the Mayor to execute the deed, real estate donation agreement
and any other documents necessary to transfer the property.
