RESOLUTION 2008—
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION OF AN INDIANA DEPARTMENT
OF HOMELAND SECURITY FIRE TRAINING INFRASTRUCTURE GRANT AND
ESTABLISHING FISCAL ACCOUNTS.
WHEREAS, the Indiana Firefighter Training System has dedicated $52,295.00 of Indiana Fire
Training Infrastructure Grant funding for District 7 firefighter training center infrastructure;
WHEREAS, the City of Greencastle Fire Department has been designated as a District 7
training center by the District 7 Fire Training Council;
WHEREAS, the City of Greencastle Fire Department is eligible to receive grants ands,
earmarked funds from the Indiana Department of Homeland Security, Indiana Fire Training
Infrastructure Grant, and the Indiana Firefighter Training System funds;
WHEREAS, the City of Greencastle Fire Department prepared an application for Indiana
Training Infrastructure Grant funding for infrastructure including the construction of a water
line, flash over chamber, concrete rehabilitation and extrication area and insulation of a fire
hydrant (hereinafter referred to infrastructure). Said application was endorsed and approved by
the District 7 Firefighter Training Committee and submitted to the Indiana Department of
Homeland Security Training Division;
WHEREAS, the City of Greencastle has matched funds with in-kind donations and will not
have to supplement this grant by a monetary match.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of
Greencastle, Indiana:
Section 1. That it hereby approves and endorsed the Greencastle Fire Department
application for Indiana Fire Training Infrastructure dated April, 2008 as
submitted and supplemented on May, 2008;
Section 2. That in the event that the Greencastle Fire Department is awarded the grant, the
City Clerk Treasurer is authorized to open the "District Seven Firefighter
Training Center Infrastructure" fund to receive the grant funds and to disburse
said funds as determined by the grant agreement and administered by the
Greencastle Fire Department.
