COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GREENCASTLE
RESOLUTION NO. 2008 - 5
A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE AMENDMENT OF THE DOWNTOWN
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AREA BY THE
GREENCASTLE REDEVELOPMENT COMMISSION
WHEREAS, the Greencastle Redevelopment Commission on May 21, 2008, reviewed the factual
report and economic development plan for the Downtown Economic Development Area;
WHEREAS,the Greencastle Redevelopment Commission passed Resolution 2002-1,and 2002-2 to
create the Downtown Economic Development Area;
WHEREAS, the Greencastle Redevelopment Commission passed Resolution 2008-1 on May 21,
2008, a declaratory resolution amending Resolution 2002-2;
WHEREAS, the Greencastle Plan Commission passed Resolution 2008-1 on May 27, 2008,
approving the amendment of the Downtown Economic Development Area and Economic
Development Plan and finding the resolution and the plan conform to the plan of Development for
the City of Greencastle;
WHEREAS,IC 36-7-14-41 and IC 36-7-14-16 require that the Redevelopment Commission submit
the declaratory resolution and supporting data to the Greencastle Common Council;
WHEREAS, IC 36-7-14-16 requires that the Greencastle Common Council determine whether the
resolution and the economic development plan conform to the plan of development for the City of
Greencastle; and,
WHEREAS,the Greencastle Common Council at its regularly scheduled meeting on June 10,2008,
did review Redevelopment Commission Resolution 2008-1, the Factual Report in Support of
Findings Contained in Resolution 2008-1, the Amended Economic Development Plan for the
Downtown Economic Development Area,Greencastle Plan Commission Resolution 2008-1,and all
other supporting documentation.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GREENCASTLE, INDIANA THAT:
(1) The Redevelopment Commission resolution and amended economic development plan
conform to the plan of development for City of Greencastle, and the Common Council
approves said resolution and amended plan.
(2) The geographic area defined by the Redevelopment Commission is an economic
development area defined by IC 36-7-14-41 and outlined in the declaratory resolution.
(3) A copy of this resolution be submitted to the Greencastle Redevelopment Commission.
(4) This resolution shall be effective as of its date of adoption.
ADOPTED by the Common Council of the City of Greencastle at its regular meeting this 10th day
of June, 2008.
