No. 07 - 1 1 4 Date of Adoption ill' 12 2007 AUTHORIZING A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES CONTRACT WITH CME ASSOCIATES, RE: FEDERAL BOULEVARD REDEVELOPMENT AREA WHEREAS, the Borough of Carteret is in need of professional land surveying and engineering services for a proposed minor subdivision of Block 64.02, Lot 7, located in the Federal Blvd. Redevelopment Area; and WHEREAS, CME Associates, 1460 Route 9 South, Howell, New Jersey 07731, possesses the requisite experience and expertise to provide said services; and WHEREAS, CME Associates has submitted a proposal to provide said services at a total cost not to exceed $2,500.00; and WHEREAS, the Mayor and the Council have reviewed said proposal; and WHEREAS, the Chief Financial Officer has certified that funds are or will be available for said purpose. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and the Council of the Borough ofCarteret, County of Middlesex, State of New Jersey, as follows: 1. The proposal from CME Associates for professional surveying and engineering services for a proposed minor subdivision of Block 64.02, Lot 7, located in the Federal Blvd. Redevelopment Area, at a total cost not to exceed $2,500.00 is hereby approved. 2. This action is approved as an award of a professional services contract pursuant to NJ.S.A 40A: 11-5(1 )(a) awarded pursuant to the Borough's Fair and Open process as authorized by law. 3. A copy of this Resolution be forwarded to the Borough's Purchasing Department and CME Associates. Adopted this lih day of April, 2007 and certified as a true copy of the original on April 13, 2007. ' Dear Mayor Reiman: We are pleased to submit to you this proposal for Professional Land Surveying and Engineering services relative to the proposed minor subdivision of the above captioned lot and block. As per our discussion, it is our understanding that you would like to subdivide Lot 7 (10 acres) into two lots: one for the existing building improvements; and the second, for development of a future commercial venture. We have received, through the Borough's Redevelopment Attorney, a title search for the property in question. The search contains the existence of various easements, which may need to be reviewed for the need for utility service relocation on the area to be redeveloped. In review of the above, the project needs to be evaluated for the feasibility of the potential constraints due to the existing infrastructure.
