A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD .
ADOPTING AN APPROPRIATIONS LIMIT FOR THE 1998-99 FISCAL YEAR
PURSUANT TO ARTICLE XIIIB OF THE CALIFORNIA CONSTITUTION
WHEREAS, Article XIIIB of the Constitution of the State of California provides
i that total annual appropriations subject to limitation of the City shall not exceed. the
Appropriations Limit of the City for the prior year as adjusted for annual adjustment
factors; and
WHEREAS, Article XIIIB requires that each year the governing body of each
local jurisdiction is required to establish its Appropriations Limit by resolution and to
approve appropriate inflation and population factors used in calculating the
Appropriations Limit; and
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to set an Appropriations Limit for the 1998--
99 Fiscal Year on those appropriations subject to limitation under Article XIIIB; and
WHEREAS, documents used in determining the Appropriations Limit was made
.available to the public at the City Clerk's Office;
NO.W.THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE.CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LYNWOOD, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE,
DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOW:
SECTION 1. That the cost of living factor used to compute the Appropriations
.Limit is the percentage change in the California per capita personal income combined
with the change in population in the City of Lynwood.
SECTION 2. That the Appropriations Limit for the City of Lynwood during the
1998-99 Fiscal Year for appropriations subject to limitation under Article XIII B shall be
fifteen .million, one hundred eighty one thousand, and thirty-four dollars ($15,181,034).
SECTION 3. That this resolution shall take effect immediately upon its
adoption.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 18th day of August
1998.
