HomeMy Public PortalAboutRES-CC-1984-09RESOLUTION 09-84 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Moab recognizes it to be costly and time-consuming to advertise and test each individual applicant for the position of Police Officer whenever a vacancy occurs; and WHEREAS, it is the opinion of the governing body of the City of Moab that it is in the best interests of the City of Moab and to its mutual advantage to create a list of applicants from which to select employees for the Police Department; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Moab wishes to amend Section 10 of the Personnel Policies and Procedures Manual, adopted by motion in August of 1977, to establish a list of applicants from which a selection can be made when a vacancy arises; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Moab create a list of applicants after proper advertising and testing on an annual basis (or earlier, if necessary) and utilize the State Register to maintain a current list of applicants from which to select employees to fill vacancies; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Moab amend Section 7-G of the Personnel Policies and Proced- ures Manual to extend the probationary period from six (6) months to one (1) year in the Police Department.
