HomeMy Public PortalAboutResolution 05-43721 1 RESOLUTION NO. 05 -4372 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY APPROVING THE MODIFICATION OF PARKING CONTROL SIGNAGE ON THE 9400 BLOCK OF EMPEROR AVENUE WHEREAS, the City Council recognizes that persons who reside in specific residential areas may be impacted by excess motor vehicle traffic and parking congestion; and, WHEREAS, Division 11, Chapter 9, Section 22507, subsection "A" of the California Vehicle Code authorizes local authorities to prohibit or restrict the stopping, parking, or standing of vehicles on certain streets or portions thereof, during all or certain hours of the day; and, WHEREAS, Staff and the City's Traffic Engineer have reviewed conditions in the area and have proposed changes in parking control signage to provide adequate parking opportunities for residents and visitors; and, WHEREAS, the proposed parking control signs are consistent with all local, state and federal regulations. NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Temple City hereby resolves as follows: SECTION 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to erect or install the following signage along the north curb of the 9400 block of Emperor Avenue: • No less than four (4) signs which state: "No Parking 7:30 a.m. — 3:30 p.m., Schooldays — Tow Away" and "No Parking 10:00 p.m. — 7:30 a.m., Sun — Sat." SECTION 2. Vehicles parked in violation of the above regulation are subject to removal. SECTION 3. Violations of the parking restrictions imposed by this Resolution shall subject violators to the sanctions provided in applicable Federal, State, and Local law, and the City Manager (and his designates), the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, or any other duly authorized law enforcement personnel, are hereby authorized to issue citations or take other lawful action to enforce this Resolution. SECTION 4. The City Manager may suspend enforcement of the provisions in this Resolution for any period of time as the City Manager may, in good judgment determine is necessary for the efficient administration of the City. SECTION 5. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this Resolution.
