RESOLUTION NO. 05 -4380
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE
CITY APPROVING THE MODIFICATION OF PARKING CONTROL
SIGNAGE ON THE 5900 BLOCK OF TEMPLE CITY BOULEVARD
WHEREAS, the. City Council recognizes that business owners and persons who patronize
businesses in the City may be impacted by excess motor vehicle traffic and parking congestion; and,
WHEREAS, Division 11, Chapter 9, Section 22507, subsection "A" of the California Vehicle Code
authorizes local authorities to prohibit or restrict the stopping, parking, or standing of vehicles on certain
streets or portions thereof, during all or certain hours of the day; and,
WHEREAS, Staff and the City's Traffic Engineer have reviewed conditions in the area and have
proposed changes in parking control signage to provide adequate parking opportunities for business
owners, patrons, residents and visitors; and,
WHEREAS, the proposed parking control signs are consistent with all local, state and federal
regulations.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Temple City hereby resolves as follows:
SECTION 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to erect or install the following signage
along the east curb of the 5900 block of Temple City Boulevard.
• Beginning at 5918 Temple City Boulevard and Ending at 5930 Temple City Boulevard, no
less than three (3) signs which state: "One (1) Hour Parking 7AM — 6PM, Except
Sundays."
• Beginning at 5934 Temple City Boulevard and Ending at 5958 Temple City Boulevard, no
less than four (4) signs which state: "Thirty (30) Minute Parking 7AM — 6PM, Except
Sundays'.
SECTION 2. Each b,usiriess owner in the 5900 block of Temple City Boulevard (east side) may
apply for and be granted one (1.) `Special Parking Permit ". The "Special Parking Permit" allows a patron
to park a vehicle in excess o■ the posted time restriction, while conducting business at the establishment
that provided the permit. The • permit must be returned to the establishment once all business
transactions have been concluded. Permits must be displayed face up on the driver's side dashboard to
be valid.
SECTION 3. Applications shall be filed in the Public Services Department of City Hall. All
permits shall expire on December 31 of each year. Permits must be renewed each year. Expired permits
must be surrendered to the Public Services Department before a new permit will be issued.
SECTION 4. A fifty - dollar ($50.00) application fee for all permits (new, reissued or renewal) shall
be paid to cover the costs of processing the application.
SECTION 5. Vehicles parked in violation of the above regulations are subject to citation.
SECTION 6. Violations of the parking restrictions imposed by this Resolution shall subject
violators to the sanctions provided in applicable Federal, State, and Local law, and the City Manager (and
his designates), the Los Angeles County Sheriffs Department, or any other duly authorized law
enforcement personnel, are hereby authorized to issue citations or take other lawful action to enforce this
Resolution.

SECTION 7. The City Manager may suspend enforcement of the provisions in this Resolution for
any period of time as the City Manager may, in good judgment determine is necessary for the efficient
administration of the City.
SECTION 8. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this Resolution.
