HomeMy Public PortalAboutResolution 05-43851 RESOLUTION NO. 05 -4385 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY APPROVING THE PARKING RESTRICTIONS IN THE TEMPLE CITY EMPLOYEE PARKING LOT WHEREAS, the City Council recognizes that residents, business owners and persons who patronize businesses in the City may be impacted by excess motor vehicle traffic and parking congestion; and, WHEREAS, Division 11, Chapter 9, Section 22507, subsection "A" of the California Vehicle Code authorizes local authorities to prohibit or restrict the stopping, parking, or standing of vehicles on certain streets or portions thereof, during all or certain hours of the day; and, WHEREAS, Staff and the City's Traffic Engineer have reviewed conditions in the area and have proposed changes in usage of the Temple City employee parking lot to provide adequate parking opportunities for business owners, patrons, residents and visitors; and, WHEREAS, the proposed parking restrictions are consistent with all local, state and federal regulations. NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Temple City hereby resolves as follows: SECTION 'I.- .Th&City Manager is hereby authorized to impose the following restrictions and erect or installlhe following signage in the Temple City employee parking lot: No less than three .(6,) signs which state: • "City Hall ,Permit' Parking Only, 12AM - 6PM, Monday — Friday, Tow Away" • "Public Parking, 6PM — 12AM, Monday — Friday" • - "City -Hall- Permit Parking Only, 12AM — 6AM, Saturday — Sunday, Tow Away" • "Public Parking, 6AM — 12AM, Saturday — Sunday" SECTION 2. Each employee shall be issued a parking permit, which shall be displayed in or on the vehicle while parked in the employee parking lot during restricted hours. SECTION 3. Vehicles parked in violation of the above regulations are subject to citation and /or removal. SECTION 4. Violations of the parking restrictions imposed by this Resolution shall subject violators to the sanctions provided in applicable Federal, State, and Local law, and the City Manager (and his designates), the Los Angeles County Sheriffs Department, or any other duly authorized law enforcement personnel, are hereby authorized to issue citations or take other lawful action to enforce this Resolution. SECTION 5. The City Manager may suspend enforcement of the provisions in this Resolution for any period of time as the City Manager may, in good judgment determine is necessary for the efficient administration of the City.
