MEETING: Public Arts Committee Regular Meeting

1. Regular Meeting: Roll Call
Chairperson Shapiro called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m.
2. Approval of Agenda:
Klancke moved, and Ball seconded the motion to approve the Agenda. Motion carried:
5-0.
3. Consent Agenda:
a) Minutes – Minutes – April 21, 2017
Klanke moved, and Veenstra seconded the motion to approve the consent
agenda. Motion carried: 5-0.
4. Discussion
a) Public Arts Committee Chair and meeting management
Shapiro will remain as the chair and Flacke will remain the vice chair. Shapiro will
help with the monthly agenda in coordination with the Town Manager.
b) Mural Program Proposal
Klanke and Flacke introduced a Public Mural Program. This is a starting point for
a mission statement and program. This will help create an interest and a
timeframe for the program. The PAC will launch the program by painting the
Gardener’s Shed (corner of Leonard and Eisenhower). The Town will complete
the necessary preparation of the building.

Klanke moved, and Larson seconded the motion that Larson will be the project
lead and Madsen will assist with preparing a final proposal for the Gardner's
shed mural project. They will present this at next PAC meeting for approval. The
Town will prepare the shed for the project. Motion Carried 7-0.
Flacke exited the meeting at 9:55am.
c) Picnic in the Park Strategy
The PAC will have a tent and two PAC members at each Picnic in the Park Music
series. There will be a sign-up sheet for the event dates at the next PAC meeting.
These two artists will have a new creative design or art activity for the event they
sign up for. Klanke will prepare an outline of the Mural Project Program to
present at the music series.

The PAC would like to be involved in the Cozen's Ranch Open Space Planning.
Veenstra moved, and Klanke seconded the motion to adjourn. Motion carried: 6-0.
