Motion Carried. Gallows ay moved: Burroughs seconded: To adjorn Sine iLie. Adjourned Meeting Clerk )()/.2. 2,7 Mayor ril 6, 1954 Mayor Widmaier called the adjourned meeting to order at 9:25 P.M. Members present were: Burman, Clary, Mason aid Wykert. Coon and Schulz were absent. Mr. C.A. Brayton, Notary Public, swore in the new elected Mayor, M.C. Widmaier, and also trustees Burman, Clary, Mason and Wykert. Schulz and " oon were to be sworn in the following day. The Mayor read the wages paid to all present employed town employees, and asked if the new town board would like to continue with the present town employees until the called regular meeting in which all employees would be rehired or hired through application and appointment. The Mayor asked if the new board would like to have all town board meet- ings to commence at 7:30 P.M. instead of 8:00 P.M. as in the past. All agreed. Mayor o'idmaier ;hen set April 13, 191)4 us the date for the regular meeting night for the month of April 1954. There was a little discussion on the police duties of the Town Marshall. Furman moved: Clary seconded: To ad jorn subject to the call of the Mayor. -o L i o n Carried. Clerk Mayor Regular Meeting April 13, 1954 Regular meeting was called to order at 7:45 P.M. by mayor Widmaier. Members present were: Burman, Clary, Coon, Mason, Schulz, & Wykert. Minutes of adjorned meeting of April 6, 1954 were read and ' approved as read. The councilmen were notified as to Which committees they were appoint- ed on, and some of the duties each committee were discussed. Applications from Town employee's were read by the clerk. The Applicants were then discussed individually. Schulz moved: Coon seconded: To re -appoint Mrs. Smith as Librarian, for the 'down of Ault, to serve at the will and pleasure of the Town Board. Motion Carried. Schulz moved: Wykert seconded: To re -appoint Mrs. .iathergill as Police Magistrate, to serve at the will and pleasure of the 'own Board. Motion Carried. Mason moved: Schulz seconded: To re -appoint Make Armstrong, as Utility .man, for the town of Ault , to serve at the will and pleasure of the Town Board, Motion Carried. , Clary moved: Coon seconded; To re -appoint Paul Lear as sown Clerk and Water 'forks Supt. for the Town of Ault, to serve at the will and plea- sure of the Town Board. Motion Carried. There was some discussion on the duties of the Town Marshall. Burman moved: Coon seconded: To re -appoint Sherman Woods as Town Marshall, to serve at the will and pleasure of the Town board. Motion Carried. Schulz moved: Wykert seconded: To rehire Barnard Eoutchens as Town Attorney, or the Town of Ault. Lotion Carried. Coonmoved: Burman seconded: To hire Mrs. helen Maylott to assist the 'i'own Clerk in Balancing the Town books and to be kept in a proper balance. +otion Carried. Wykert moved: Mason seconded: To hire John Nelson, for 165.00 per month as of April 1, 1954 and continue on steady salary as long as he is need- -ed. Motion Carried. -Street and Alley Committee, and the Mayor were to contact, harry Batley, 4 in near future concerning a stop light, at the intersection of Highway 85, and highway 14. Fire and Police Committee were to have meeting to draw up a working sheet and some of the duties to be expected of a Day Marshall, when one could be hired. Coon moved: Wykert seconded; To permit the Fire Department to purchase 150 feet of pressure hose, for the reel on the Fire Truck. Motion Carried. There was some discussion on4the up -keep of the town park. The Mayor was to contact the Superintendent of the School and ask him to please have the school children cooperate with the park man.
