The lown Board gave the Clerk permission to hire any licensed plumber,
to assist as a Plumbing Inspector, and to charge a ; >5. U0 fee, for In-
spection.
The Town Board also gave the Clerk permission to have the old Gasoline
Engine, located at the Main Pump House, c isposeckf and sold as Junk iron.
Schulz moved: Coon s:condea: To hire Geo.Fathergill as extra labor during
the summer months, when needeu. Motion Carried.
Wykert moved: Mason seconded: To adjorn subject to the call of the Mayor.
Motion Carried.

Regular Meeting May 4, 1954
Regular meeting was called to order at 7:30 r.M. by Mayor Widmaier.
Members present were: Burman, Clary, oon, Mason, Schulz and a,ykert.
Minutes of the regular meeting of April 13, 1954 :were read and app-
roved as read.
Receipts of the town for the month of April 1954, were read by the
Clerk.
The Town received two safe water sample reports from the 'veld Uounty
health Dept.
M r. Alberts, from the western Casualty and Surety insurance 'Jompany,
was present to explain: to the Town Board ,the conditions of the Fire
men's insurance policy at present, with hospital rider, and the diff-
erence's in changing it to a medical rider.
Coon moved: Wykert seconded: To have the new Firemen's Insurance policy
read: $3,000.00 for life, x'40.00 weekly indemnity, and a $1,000.00
Hospital and Medical rider, and was to go into effect MEg. 4, 1954.
Motion Carried.
Mason and Schulz gave a report on the flashing lights the town would
like to have installed at the intersection of Highways, 85 and 14. Mr.
xiarry Bailey informed Mason the town could install a flashing red light
only, frcm the west approch on highway 14, and the town would have to
stand one-half of the total expense, which would be around $800.00.
This^"o be tabled until more information could be gotten.
Coon moved: Mason seconded: to appoint Harry Kurtz to represent the
Town of Ault in all Civil Defense matters. Lotion Carried.
There was a lot of discussion on the duties of the Town Marsh}:ll. It
was deceided to set up some rules and regulations for the Town Marshall
and have a special meeting of the Police Committee, Police Magistrate,
Town Attorney and Town Marshall in the near future.
Otho Wykert was to contact Carl Magnuson and see if the County could
dig a ditch between the County shops and Ed Hotalings place, so a 1i"
water line or water main could be laid, so as to make a complete water
main circulation system in that block, then all agreed to have a 14"
water line laid in this ditch to complete a circulation system for this
part of town.
The board agreed to grant Troy Jones the usual amount of 35.00 for the
privledge of dumping the town trash, at his dumpinTard, north of Pierce.
George heberlein asked the mayor, to ask the Town Board, for permiss-
ion and help on the financing, to enclose water right -a -way ditch with
tile, on the East_side of his place of business. This was left up to the
Street and Alley gornraittee to investigate further.
There was much discussion on the Fire Department, pertaining to tere
rules and regulations, at present, and the increasing of ,:,he re
Department from the present ten members to twenty members. It was then
deceided to have iire Dept. appoint ten more men on the Fire Department
and at the end of the present Fire Chief's term, in June, with the help
of the Fire Department a new Fire Chief would be appointed by the Town
Board to serve for the Fire Department, for an indefinite period.
Clary moved: Schulz seconded: To grant the Catholic Church on the East
side of Town the same water privileges as all other Church's in the
Town of Ault. Notion Carried.
The board asked the Clerk to contact Mr. Muth and have him recommend
to the School board, to have the old motor, on the Power Mower replaced
with . a new 8 H.P. motor.
