Members present were, Burman, Clary Coon, Mason, Schulz and -- f ykert. Minutes of regular meeting of May 4, 1954 were read ad avnroved as read. Reeeints of t',e town, for the month of May 1951., were read by the clerk. Lester, Hotaling Presented an apnlication for a 3.2,E beer license. Burman moved: Schulz seconded: To grant Lester Hotaling a 3.2% beer license for one year. Motion Carried. The town received two safe water sample resorts from the Weld County Health Department. A retort of.the1953 audit, of the Town of Ault, was nre Dented to the town board ad discussed. Coon gave a renort for the Police Committee. The Marshall, Police r.'iagistrate, and Police Committee, attended a court trial in Greeley to get a lot of sugg- estions, an corrections, in carrying on a court case in the town of Ault. The town board considered holding court on certain days during the week, only and if Marshall was off duty a 2.00 cost would be added to the fine to cover his oexnenses and time for appearing. The Police Committee was to include this ruling in there rules and regulations now being set un for the Policemen. W kert moved: Coon seconded: To have the town clerk make arrangements to have l " water main, installed, between county shops and Ed Hot-1in,7 residence. Motion Carried. 'Mason gave report 'or. Street and Alley Committee. It was left un to the Highway Dent. to investigate George Heberleins situation of installing tile along cast front of his place of business and along Highway #85. t was also suggested by the council to recuest tit State Highway Department to patrol Highway #it and #85 more often through the town city limits. A 3.2% beer annlica tion was considered for the Ault Grill. Coon moved: Burman seconded: To grant Mrs. Nora Jones a 3.2% beer license for one year. Motion Carried. The drain tile at the corner of Allison Street and Highway was tabled until the clerk of Street and Alley Committee could investigate it more throughly. Also a din for drainage aurposes was to be installed north of the corner of third street and Hayden Avenue to drain the water from the west side of the street to +he east side, of the street, where it will then take it's natural source of drain. The cleaning un of certain lots in the town was discussed. The Japanese commit- tee was to be contacted about a certain place in town, and see if in some way, a home could be revaired or fixed up for a Japanese family, to keep from caus- ing a fire hazard. The clerk was to contact the Health Department to ask them for a letter of authorization, to help get this lot or situation cleaned un in the town. There was a lot of discussion on the oiling of lst Avenue south of Highway #1)4 to the corner of BStreet. The School District was to nay for the oiling of one block in front of the Elementary building, and the town would stand the ex- vense in the next block north. This was tabled until the property owners along this Avenue could be contacted for fin =apical sunnort. The finance committee examined these bills: Petty Cash 35.00 Petty Cash 2.37 Mtn.
