HomeMy Public PortalAboutResolution 06-43951 RESOLUTION NO. 06 -4395 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY APPROVING THE PAINTING OF RED CURBS IN THE '4800 BLOCK OF DOREEN AVENUE WHEREAS, the City Council recognizes that residents, business owners and persons who patronize businesses in the City may be impacted by excess motor vehicle traffic and parking congestion; and, WHEREAS, :7i■ision, 11, Chapter 9, Section 22507, subsection "A" of the California Vehicle Code authorizes local authorities to prohibit or restrict the stopping, parking, or standing of vehicles on certain streets or portions thereof, during all or certain hours of the day; and, WHEREAS, Staff and the City's Traffic Engineer have reviewed conditions in the area and have proposed .ctianges . in•curb markings in the 4800 block of Doreen Avenue; and, WHEREAS, 'the proposed parking restrictions are consistent with all local, state and federal regulations. NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Temple City hereby resolves as follows: SECTION 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to impose the following restrictions in the 4800 block of Doreen Avenue: • Paint a thirty (30) foot section and an eighteen (18) foot section red directly adjacent to Alberto's (west curb). • Paint a thirty -eight (38) foot section red directly adjacent to In -N -Out (east curb). SECTION 2. Vehicles parked in violation of the above regulations are subject to citation. SECTION 3. Violations of the parking restrictions imposed by this Resolution shall subject violators to the sanctions provided in applicable Federal, State, and Local law, and the City Manager (and his designates), the Los Angeles County Sheriffs Department, or any other duly authorized law enforcement personnel, are hereby authorized to issue citations or take other lawful action to enforce this Resolution. SECTION 4. The City Manager may suspend enforcement of the provisions in this Resolution for any period of time as the City Manager may, in good judgment determine is necessary for the efficient administration of the City. SECTION 5. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this Resolution.
