Call to Order; Roll Call
Mayor Murray called the meeting to order at 6:30 PM, upon roll by Clerk
Treasurer Lynda Dunbar the following were present: Adam Cohen, Jinsie
Bingham, Mark Hammer, and Phyllis Rokicki. Terry Smith Absent
A. Shannon Norman, City Planner — Ms. Norman stated some of her biggest
achievement for 2012 was the removal of unsafe buildings in the City of
Greencastle. The council agreed and would like it to continue to be a high
priority for the city. Ms. Norman also felt the MS4 projects were also very
successful in 2012.
B. Tom Sutherlin, Police Chief — Chief Sutherlin felt 2012 had some trying times
for his department. However, morale is good and they continue to train to meet
all the different situations they may encounter. Training will continue to be a
priority. Police Department is working closely with schools to review safety
plans and provide training to school staff. Chief Sutherlin will continue to
review work schedules of officers so he can provide the best work environment
possible.
C. Richard Hedge, Utilities Superintendent- Mr. Hedge provided summary of
accomplishments for 2012 and goals for 2013 which include the 5 year plan for
water and wastewater
D. Laurie Hardwick, City Attorney- Ms. Hardwick provided a list of 2013 goals to
the council. The Stellar Communities Grant, Albin Pond Dam and American
with Disabilities compliance manual and Unsafe Buildings have been the
majority of her 2012 activities.
A motion was made by Adam Cohen to have a Special Session on February 20, 2013 at
6:30 to discuss some of councils goals, second Phyllis Rokicki, 4 -0, motion carried.
III. Adjournment
Motion was made by Jinsie Bingham to adjourn the meeting at 8:54
