Members °resent were: ''unman, Clary, Coon, Mason, Schulz and Wykert. The minutes of the regular Board Meeting of September 7, 1954 were read and approved ass read. Receipts of the Town for the month of September 1954 were read by the Clerk. The Mayor informed the Town Board that the Ault Sanitation Dist. would purchase the old adding machine at the agreed price of $25.00. There was a few letters and a petition was sent in to the Town Council, from buisness men and people of the Town of Ault, protesting Parallel narking. A letter from Laurence . Rower, District Engineer, for the Highway Department was read to the gown Board. This letter stated that if parallel narking was not adopted at the next regular council meeting of October 5, 1954, The siginal Lights at the intersection of Highway 85 & 14 would be made inoperative and the parallel signs along 1st Street would be removed, and also the resurfacing of 1st Street would not be allowed for, according to the present pro°osed budget. Mr. Barnard Houtchens, Town Attorney, was present to talk over the Parallel narking situation with the Tern Board. Mr. Houtchens also read the nrorosed Ord- inance drawn ur, to eliminate diagional narking and adopt narallel narking. Coon moved: Mason seconded: To adort, nass and publish an Ordinance to eliminate diagional narking and introduce Parallel narking, with the understanding, the Ordinance would be called un for a revue, or renealcd after a five month trial basis. This motion is made with the understanding that the signal light will remain even though the Town returns to diagional narking after the trial period which is the understanding that the hoard had with Mr. Laurence Power of the Highway Department. Upon voting there was four voted yes, and two voted no. Mason moved: Wykert seconded: That the nr000sed Ordinance to amend section 4, of Ordinance #96 concerning automobiles and Vehicles and relating to traffic rules and regulations of the road was read, in full, and there -after was moved by Coon and seconded by Mason that the Ordinance as read be adopted and published as by law required. Motion Carried. Mr. Houtchens also gave report on the Home Light and Power Co. in which was try- ing to establish an increase in Hower rates to all consumers served by the Co. Mr. Houtchens stated that Mr. E.B. Evans attorney from Denver who special izes in proceeding's of this kind was to be hired to represent the town of Greeley, Ault,, LaSalle, Eaton and Evans. His fee would be divided, to be paid between these towns, and would be pro -rated on the basis of the size of each one of the Protestants, The Street and Alley Committee was asked to investigate the installing of a street light at the alley intrances between 1st and 2nd street on 2nd avenue, and 1st and A street on 2nd avenue. Mr. Robert Anderson was to be contacted, the Town Auditor, and a 1955 Annual Budget was to be drawn uo, adopted, and published and from the -budget a Tax Levy for the year 1955 would be set un for the To en of Ault. There was a lot of discussion on the setting un of a Fire Protection District for the Town of Ault and School District # 34. The Town Board consented to give uo one niece of Fire Anraratus to the District as soon as the District could be R T set un for operation, providing, that if in the,future for some reason the Dist- rict would be discontinuedthe Fire Ao°aratus atnthat time would refer back to the Town to be continued, and set un, as a Town /ire Department.
