Council members present: Ebert, Jenness, Enneking, Frangione, Schmillen. Also, present: Steve Schuetz, Elaine Rassel, Connie Edwards, Gary Edwards, Kenny Hohbach, Brian Flikeid Pledge of Allegiance Motion by Jenness, seconded by Enneking to open public hearing on the sale of lot in business park. Ayes: Ebert, Jenness, Enneking. Nayes: none. No present Schmillen, Frangione. Motion carried. There were no written or oral comments. Motion by Ebert, seconded by Enneking to close public hearing. Ayes: Ebert, Jenness, Enneking. Nayes: none. Not present: Schmillen, Frangione. Motion carried. 5:02 Schmillen joined meeting. Motion by Enneking, seconded by Ebert to approve Resolution 23-35, "Resolution Approving Proposed Sale Concerning Real Estate in Marcus Business Park to Schmillen Construction, Inc. in the City of Marcus, Iowa." Ayes: Ebert, Jenness, Enneking. Nayes: none. Abstain: Schmillen. Not present: Frangione. Motion carried. Motion by Ebert, seconded by Jenness to approve Consent Agenda: City Council Minutes, Bills, Res #23-36, "Transfer Funds", MMCRU Parade Permit, Kaitlin Letsche to Library Board. Ayes: Ebert, Jenness, Enneking, Schmillen. Nayes: none Not present: Frangione. Motion carried. 5:04pm Frangione joined meeting. Council member Jenness presented the current pool wages and noted that Marcus is falling behind and needs WSI certified guards. Discussion was held on how to get training for guards to keep public swimming lessons an option in Marcus. Matt Dreckman is working with Jill Miller of Sioux Center to set up a class. Motion by Jenness, seconded by Schmillen to increase starting wage to $10.50, 2nd year $11.00, 3rd year $11.50 with an $.50/hr. increase with WSI certification. The City of Marcus will reimburse 100% of the training cost at the end of the season. The manager's position is open and will pay based on experience. Ayes: All. Nayes: None. Motion carried. Mayor Bunt reported the intake outlet by the water tower is currently being repaired. Police Chief Brian Flikeid gave his arrest report, did a death investigation for the County, and is working with on a county wide critical incident debriefing. Clerk Harvey presented to the Council the Annual Urban Renewal Report. Motion by Ebert, seconded by Enneking to adjourn at 5:29 pm. All ayes. Nayes: none. Motion carried.
