TION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
AWARDLNG THE CONTRACT FOR SEWER
SERVICES TO EMPIRE PIPE CLEANING AND ' '
JT ,INC.; AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE
EMENT; AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
SIGNEE TO MAKE THE APPROPRIATE BUDGET -

WHEREAS ,the sewer system is in need of a thorough cleaning; and
:.
WHEREAS, all cleaning is done on an emergency basis which is not cost
effective; and
WHEREAS, bids were solicited and three proposals where received from
qualified sewer cleaning contractors; and .
WHEREAS, staff has reviewed the bids, interviewed the firms, checked
all references, and ranked the bids; and ~ ,~
WHEREAS, Empire Pipe Cleaning and Equipment, Inc. is the lowest ,
_ bidder and possesses the qualifications and experience .necessary to perform
the services required for $95,410; and

WHEREAS, the Sewer. Services Division of the Department of Public
Works. has the:funds to pay for the services needed.
NOW THEREFORE, the City Council ofithe City. of Lynwood does hereby .
find,, ,proclaim, ;order and resolves follows: .
Section ~1: The City Council approves. the selection of Empire Pipe .
Cleaning and Equipment, .Inc. to clean the 406,000 feet of City sewer pipelines
for a fee of $.95,410.
Section 2:. That the Mayor-is hereby authorized to execute the contract:
agreement with Empire Pipeline Cleaning and Equipment, Inc. ~ "
.. Section 3: That the. City Manager is hereby authorized. to make the '
. necessary budget amendments.
