Clerk Mayor Special Meeting March 22, 1955 Special Meeting was called by the Mayor to appoint a Police Magistrate, for the p Ault. Mayor Widmaier and Trustee Schulz had contacted Mr. Edward Konn about serving as Police Magistrate, previous tothe meeting. Schulz moved: Coon second -d: To appoint Mr. Edward L. Kopp Jr. Police' Magistrate for the Town of Ault, to serve at the Will and pleasure of the mown Board. Motion Carried. Members present were: Burman, Clary, Coon, Mason, Schulz and Wykert. Clerk Regular Meeting '927 ,1„,`,/) April 5, 1955 Mayor Regular meeting was brought to order by Mayor Widmaier. Members present were: Burman, Clary, Coon, Mason, Schulz and Wykert. Minutes of the Regular meeting of March 1955 were read and approved as read. Receipts and Disbursements for the month of March 1955 were read by the Clerk. John W, Alies Jr. sent in application for a 3.2% beer license for the East Pool Hall. Burman :roved: Clary seconded: To grant John W. Alles Jr.. a 3.2% beer license for one year. Motion Carried. Town Correspondence received for the month of March 1955 was read b- the Clerk, Bids were sent in by Prange and 'Jason and Ray 0. Emery on repairing back of City Hall and the installing of a new door, Otho Wykert, Leslie Clary and Asa Mason were appointed on a Committee to look the situation over, and inform the low bidder of there deceision. Prange and Masons bid was 2869.00 and Ray Emery bid was $614.00. Weld County Health Dept, sent in two safe Municipal water sample reports, for the month of March 1955. Town Attorney was to be contacted to fix un ammendent for the Traffic Ord. 96, on bond acceptance b7 the Town Marshall's. Police Committee gave report as .follows. Burman and Coon stated thry had in- formed the Day Marshall of his responsibilites, which were not being cared for nror+e.rly. police Committee was also to contact Dude Rice, to ask him about serving as a Special Policeman on Saturday nights through the summer months. The Town board of Trustees disscused the hiring of extra help for the Town thro— ughout the year. The Police Committee was going to have a talk with another person interested in °olice work, and try to transfere Mr. Rice from Day Marshall duty, to Park man, and to help with other Town work. The Ordinance on the Parallel parking situation was brought up and discussed. A letter from the Town Attorney ( Mr. Barnard Houtchens) was read stating that Ordinance # 118 if reverted back or ammended by the Board of Trustees, of the Town of Ault, first the State Highway Department would have to approve by sig— nature before it could be nut into effect. Schulz moved: 'carman seconded: To have Ordinance #118 of the Town of Ault, amended, by the Town Attorney, to do away with parallel parking and again introduce diagional parking and have preceeding minutes of August, September and October Town Board meetings of 1954 sent to State Highway Dept. for there decesion and excentance. Urson roll call there were four voted yes, and two voted no. ( Burman yes, Clary no, Coon yes, Mason yes, Schulz yes, and Wykert no. ) Schulz moved: Mason seconded: To extend term of aggreement w th U.P.R.R. Co. covering four inch water pipe line on right of way at Ault, Colorado. Motion arried. There was a complaint on the George Gorai residence on the east side of Town. There was much discussion on what should be done about the situation. The Mayor was to contact the Town Attorney on this subject. There was a lot of discussion on the surfacing of some of the streets in the Town, and youth 1st Avenue to B. Street. Property owners along South 1st Avenue were to be contacted.
