HomeMy Public PortalAbout1979-015Member Thpmas Crosby introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: CITY OF MEDINA RESOLUTION NO. `/9- /S RESOLUTION ORDERING PREPARATION OF REPORT ON PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT WHEREAS, it is proposed to improve Tower Drive, Pinto Drive between T.H. 55 and Hamel Road, and Hamel Road between Hickory Drive and a point 600 feet east of Tower Drive by the repair, reconstruction and surfacing of said streets as needed, and to assess the benefited property for all or a portion of the cost of the improvement, pursuant to Minnesota Statutes Chapter 429, and WHEREAS, the proposed improvement has been referred to McCombs -Knutson Associates, Inc., the consulting engineer for the City of Medina with instructions to report to the council advising the council in a preliminary way as to whether the proposed improve- ment is feasible and as to whether it should best be made as proposed or in connection to some other improvement, and to provide an estimated cost for the improvement as recommended by the said engineer, and WHEREAS, a feasibility report has been prepared by McCombs - Knutson and Associates with reference to the said improvement and this report was received by the City Council on March 20, 1979, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Medina, Minnesota: 1. The Council will consider the improvement of such streets in accordance with the feasibility report and the assessment of all benefited property, both abutting and non -abutting, for all or a portion of the cost of the improvement, pursuant to Minnesota Statutes Chapter 429, at an estimated cost for the total improvement of $ 80,000 2. A public hearing shall be held on such proposed improve- ment on the 15 day of May ,197y in the City Council chambers at the City Hall of the City of Medina located at 2052 County Road 24 in said City at 8:00 o'clock p.m., and the City Clerk shall give mailed and published notice of such hearing and improvement as required by law. 3. The non -abutting properties proposed to be assessed shall be limited to those properties lying within the Medina Industrial Addition, Hennepin County, Minnesota.
