HomeMy Public PortalAboutPAGE 422422 Regular Meeting Sept. 4, 1956 Regular meeting was called to order at 7;20 P.M. by Mayor Pro-tem, Howard Robinson. Members present were: Armstrong, Burman, Clary, hobinson and Snow. Wykert and Mayor Widmaier were absent. Minutes of Regular meeting of August 7, 1956 were read and approved as read. Receipts and Disbursements for the month of August 1956 were read by the Clerk. Correspondence for the month of August was read and discussed. Weld County Health Dept. sent in two safe water sample reports for the month of August 1956. Clary moved: Snow seconded: To pass and adopt Ordinance # 127, Concerning the De- positing of Rubbish, Filth, Dirt and Debris in Streets, Gutters and Alleys and other public and'rrivate places, concerning offenses and providing penalties. Motion Carried. Proposed Ordinance # 128 was read and discussed. Armstrong,�moved: Clary seconded: To adopt and have published proposed Ordinance # 128 of he Town of Ault, Concerning the Damaging of Public and Private property, concerning Public offenses, and providing penalities for violation, Motion Carried. Mr. Troy Jones, was ore.sent to try and reach an aggreement with the Town of Ault to furnish a dumping grounds for the people of Ault. It was deceided to have 1st and 4th Sunday of each month open to the Town people to allow dumping, in which Mr. Gene Smith, Licensed Dray man would take control of all dumping during these two days to help keep it cleaned up. A fense was to be nut up along highway and a lock was to be kept on the gate at all other times, allowing only Dray man to enter other than the two Sunday's during the month. The Finance and Street and Alley Committee was to look over the situation and get together with Mr. Troy Jones. Burman moved.: Armstrong seconded: To redeem $1500.00 of the Registered Warrants at the Farmer s National Bank. Motion Carried. Water Works'Committee was to check into cleaning of the water pressure tanks, by the Water Tank Service Co. and report at the Regular meeting in October. The replacing of Drain Tiles along some streets in the Town was tabled until after the Budget for the coming year was discussed and adopted. Day Marshall, Edgar Voelk asked for permission to purchase School Signs for inter- section of 1st Avenue and 1st Street during school crossing hours. There was some discussion on making 1st Avenue a thru street. Stop signs were to be T lace along side streets intering into 1st avenue. The inance ommittee examined these ills: Home Light & Power Co. Snow moved: Burman seconded: To change Blake Armstrong's Title from Utility man to Street Supt. Motion Carried. Armstrong moved: Mayor Pro Tem Robinson seconded: To adjorn subject tothe call of the Mayor. Members pres- ent were; Armstrong, Clary, Robinson and Wykert. Burman and Snow were absent. Minutes of the Regular meeting of September 4, 1956 were read and approved as read. Receipts and Disbursements for the month of Sept. 1956,were„read by the Clerk. "orresnondence for the month was read by the Clerk. Weld County Health 4. Dept. sent in two safe water sample reports for the month of Seat; 1956. Robinson moved: Clary seconded: To pass and adopt Ord. # 128, of the Town of Ault, Concerning the Damaging of public and Private Property, Concerning Public Offenses, and Providing Penalities for Violatlons. Motion Carried. Weld County Assessor, W.T. Kennedy, wrote that the Town assessed valuation for the year 1956, was $878,690.00 and that the Tax Levy should not exceed 11.39 or a Tax of amounting to $10,008.28, without authorization of State Tax Commission or Special 'lection. Mr. Russ Thomte, Town Auditor, was to contacted and a Annual Budget was to be drawn up, adopted and published, and from the Budget a Tax Levy for the year would be set up for the Town. (Continued)
