A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD AWARDING
A CONTRACT :IN THE AMOUNT NOT-TO-EXCEED $36,,000 TO AAE INC. FOR THE
DESIGN OF THE. NATATORIUM REHABILITATION PROJECT, AND AUTHORIZING
THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE THE AGREEMENT
.WHEREAS, staff found that the majority of the equipment used for maintaining
the pool's water quality is in need of replacement or major repair.; and
WHEREAS,- on November 17, 2009, staff described the condition of the pool
and its filtration system to 'City Council; and
WHEREAS, on 'December 8, 2009, staff released a Request for Proposals
{RFP), for the preparation of .plans, specifications and related contract documents for
the improvements of Natatorium Rehabilitation Project to the three pre-approved on-call
consulting engineering firms; AAE Inc. Onward Engineering and Willdan Engineering;
and
WHEREAS, two consulting engineering firms responded to the RFP with the
proposed design fee to include bidding assistant and construction management of the
project; they are a`s follows:

WHEREAS, AAE Inc. was found to .be the most qualified consulting firm and has
-the staffing and expertise to prepare the project design and contract documents for a
fee of not-to-exceed $36,000, and an additional fee, not to exceed. $2-,000, for
reimbursable expenses'; and
WHEREA'5,~~~the Department of ;Public Works of the City of :Lynwood has
determined that said-:project is in accordance with the California Environmental Quality
Act (CEQA) :and is categorically exempt .pursuant to section 15301 (C) of the CEQA
guidelines pertaining to statutory exemption.
°NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
~HEREBY'FIND, PROCLAIM, ORDER, AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
,Section 1. The Department of Public Works of the- City .of Lynwood has
determined that said project is in accordance with the California Environmental Quality
Act (CEQA) and is categorically exempt pursuant to section 15301 (C) of the CEQA
guidelines pertaining to statutory exemption
Section 2. That the Lynwood City Council awards a consulting services
contract to AAE Inc. in a not-to-exceed amount of $36,000 for the design and
construction .management of Natatorium Rehabilitation Project, pool system.

Section 3. That the :Mayor is :authorized to execute the. Agreement between
the City of Lynwood and AAE Inc. in a form approved by the City Attorney.
Section 4. That this Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
Section 5. The City Clerk shall certify as to the adoption of this Resolution.
