WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Temple City has expressed interest in annexing certain unincorporated areas of Los Angeles County adjacent to Temple City; and WHEREAS, the residents of these areas have been generally favorable to the City of Temple City annexing these areas. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the City Council of the City of Temple does resolve to apply with the Los Angeles County Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCO) for annexation of the following areas: 1. The area within the "Sphere of Influence" assigned to the City of Temple City by LAFCO, described as follows: That portion of unincorporated Los Angeles County generally described as the following: The southerly boundary being the existing northerly city limit of Temple City between the Eaton Wash and the westerly boundary of the City of Arcadia; the westerly boundary of said area being the Eaton Wash between Longden Avenue and Huntington Drive; the northerly boundary of said area being Huntington Drive from the Eaton Wash extending easterly to Rosemead Boulevard, extending southerly along Rosemead Boulevard to Duarte Road, and extending easterly along Duarte Road to where it intersects with the Arcadia City limits; the easterly boundary of said area starting where Duarte Road intersects with the Arcadia City limits, extending southeasterly along the Arcadia City boundary line until said boundary intersects with the Temple City City limits. (as outlined in attached Exhibit Map) 2. The area within the "Sphere of Influence" assigned to the City of Arcadia by LAFCO, described as follows: That portion of unincorporated Los Angeles County generally described as the following: The southerly boundary being Duarte Road between Rosemead Boulevard and the westerly boundary of the City of Arcadia; the westerly boundary being Rosemead Boulevard between Duarte Road and Huntington Drive; the northerly boundary being Huntington Drive between Rosemead Boulevard and the Arcadia City limits; the easterly boundary being the Arcadia City limits between Huntington Drive and Duarte Road. (as outlined in attached Exhibit Map) BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED regarding this proposed annexation by the City of Temple City: 3. Accordingly, the City Manager's Office is authorized to submit this Resolution No. 06 -4433 to LAFCO and to undertake the necessary annexation proceedings, annexing the areas described above to the City of Temple City. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution and shall cause a copy of the same to be forwarded to LAFCO and to the City of Arcadia.
