A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD - :
. APPROVING THE SECURING OF A SECURITY FIRM TO PROVIDE SUCH A
SERVICE IN THE FACILITIES .AND PARKSOPERATED BY THE
RECREATION & COMMUNITY SERVICES DEPARTMENT THROUGH THE. •
INFORMAL. BID PROCESS

~ ? WHEREAS, the City of Lynwood has recently completed a substantial redesign
and renovation of Lynwood City Park; and , . .
WHEREAS; the park facility was reopened on Saturday, September 26;1998; and
WHEREAS, the City of Lynwood .spends hundreds of th~ sands of dollars '
annually for the repair of vandalism and graffiti; and
. ~ .~,
WHEREAS, these activities could be prevented to a great extent through the use`
of security officers in and around our park and city facilities during weekday afternoons '
- ~ and. evenings as well as on weekends; and y "
- • ~ WHEREAS, security activities would also provide for a safer environment by
which children and families could find it more comfortable to participate.
WHEREAS, We currently have'located and secured a firm to provide these same
. types of security services for Bateman Hall as well as at citywide special events; and
WHEREAS, Under Section 6-3, .13 of the Lynwood Municipal Code,. Council ~ .

~-~--- can authorize purchases through informal Bids by a 4/5 vote. -

'; : ' NOW,. THEREFORE, PROCLAIM THE CITY COUNCIL OF LYNWOOD
• DOES HEREBY FIND, PROCLAIM, ORDER AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: ,.
- Section 1. That staff is authorized to secure a vendor to provide security .
• ' ~ services at the parks and .facilities through the informal bid process. •
• Section 2. That this resolution`shall take effect immediately. upon its'adoption. ' -
