A RESOLUTION OF THE,CITY COUNCIL OF THE •
CITY OF LYNINOOD AWARDING A CONTRACT TO
CALIFORNIA WESTERN ARBOR~IST, INC.. FOR '
EMERGENCY'TREE SERVICE AND AUTHORING
THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE THE CONTRACT `
DOCUMENTS

.; WHEREAS, he City of Lynwood has a limited city-wide tree maintenance
program in place; and
WHEREAS, the City of Lynwood. is using in-house tree maintenance crew to
perform minor tree trimming/removal services on an as needed basis; and
WHEREAS, the staff has identified approximately 100 trees that are in need of
removal; and
WHEREAS; the work can. be.performed more expeditiously and expediently by
contracting this work out; and ` .: .
. WHEREAS, staff has a proposal' from California Western Arborists, Inc. to~
perform~~emergency tree removal/trimming services; and - -
WHEREAS, the cost of the work is estimated of $50,000; and
,, ~. - WHEREAS, California Western. Arborists, lnc. has satisfactorily performed tree
related services for the City of Lynwood since 1988.
. ~ NOW, THEREFORE, the Gity Council of the-City of Lynwood does hereby find,,
proclaim, order and resolve as follows:. ~ ~ -
Section 1.. That.a contract in the amount not to exceed the FY 1998'-99 tree
trimming services budget:be awarded to California Western Arborists, Inc. to perform
emergency tree removal/trimming services-..

.Section 2. That staff is directed .to prepare contract documents based on the
. attached "Schedule of Compensation for Extra Work" which is attached as "Attachment
A"-and made part of this resolution. ~ ~ ~ •
.. .Section` 3. That fihe Mayor i~s authorized to execute the contract documents.
.. ~ Section 4. That this resolution shalt go into effect immediately upon its adoption.
