A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF LYNWOOD APPROVING THE EMERGENCY
.ROOF REPAIRS AT FIRE STATIONS 1 AND 2 BY
CERTIFIED ROOFING APPLICATORS, INC.;
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE THE
CONTRACT WITH THIS FIRM; AND AUTHORIZING
THE CITY MANAGER OR HIS DESIGNEE TO MAKE '
THE NECESSARY FUNDS APPROPRIATION AND
TRANSFER.
WHEREAS, the roofs at Fire Stations 1 and 2 have leaked severely and need to
be replaced in a timely manner; and
WHEREAS, these roofs were budgeted for repairs only during fiscal year 1998-99;
and.
WHEREAS, the recent rain has caused damages to the ceiling at Fire Station 2
because of the leaking roof; and
WHEREAS, because the rainy season is approaching, these roofs need to be
replaced. immediately; and
WHEREAS, Certified Roofing Applicators, Inc. can perform the necessary
emergency roof replacement; and
WHEREAS, the repairs. contract is only budgeted for $12,000; and
WHEREAS, the total roof replacement contract would cost $82,000; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE. CITY COUNCIL OF LYNWOOD
AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council approve the emergency roof replacement at
Fire Stations 1 and 2 by Certified Roofing Applicators, Inc., and authorize the Mayor to
execute the contract agreement with this firm:
Section 2. The City Council authorize the City Manager or his designee to
make the following funds appropriation and transfer:

Unappropriated General Funds
$70,000
TO
Fire Stations Repairs
Account 5-5188-4220
$70,000
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
