RESOLUTION NO. 06 -4438
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE
CITY ADJUSTING THE COMPENSATION OF SEVERAL EMPLOYEES
FOR ASSUMING ADDITIONAL DUTIES ASSOCIATED WITH RECENT
STAFF REDUCTIONS OR VACANCIES.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Temple City met on Wednesday, May 10, 2006, to review
the proposed Fiscal Year 2006 -2007 budget; and
WHEREAS, after careful review of the proposed budget, the City Council took prudent actions to
modify the city's budget and personnel table of organization; and
WHEREAS, the City Council eliminated the "Administrative Secretary" position in the Management
Services Department, the "Recreation Supervisor," and the "Volunteer Coordinator" positions in the Parks
and Recreation Department from the city's table of organization for efficiency and economic reasons; and
WHEREAS, the City Council wants to compensate employees for some of the additional duties
assumed related to recent staff reductions and /or position vacancies.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY, CALIFORNIA, DOES
RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE, AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The City Clerk's compensation and salary range is adjusted to provide an additional ten
percent (10 %) at step three to bring this position's compensation more in line with other department heads.
SECTION 2. The Personnel Analyst's compensation and salary range is adjusted to provide an
additional five percent (5 %) at step three for extra duties performed related to the elimination of the
Administrative Secretary position.
SECTION 4. The Senior Planner position is hereby assigned a temporary salary increase of an
extra ten percent (10 %) per month while performing extra duties associated with the vacancy of the
Director of Community Development position.
SECTION 5. The salaries of the Assistant Planner positions are adjusted by an additional five
percent (5 %) based on the recommendation of the acting department head.
SECTION 6. The Park Coordinator position is hereby assigned a temporary salary increase of an
extra $250 per month while performing extra duties associated with the elimination of the Recreation
Supervisor position.
SECTION 7. The Youth Activities Coordinator position is hereby assigned a temporary salary
increase of an extra $250 per month while performing additional duties associated with the elimination of
the Recreation Supervisor position.
SECTION 8. The City Council hereby approves the following amendment to revise the table of
classifications and salary ranges:

SECTION 9. These actions of the City Council became effective on August 1, 2006.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED on this 1st day of August, 2006.
